Confident Creature Tess Holliday
Confident Creature 1 Tess Holliday
Hello fine readers! I’ve had a vision to point out super amazing confident creatures with positive characters and possibly people to look up to. I know there are some absolutely amazing confident creatures out there and this post is to give them some recognition. We see you Tess Holiday!
Before I begin I just wanted to say I felt some anxiety behind these posts because what if the person I write about sees it and hates it? OR is like “why is she creepin on me?” I don’t know. lol. But It took some time and building up that courage to be bold and do it! So cheers to the first confident creature post! Tess Holliday!
About her…
Tess Holliday is a confident stunningly beautiful plus size model, make up artist, blogger, mother and body positive activist.
Now she may be absolutely confident, inspiring, and successful but she had a rough childhood. Her mom was disabled and her dad was absent. Her grandparents took care of her and her brother from a young age.
School was no escape from her home life. She was bullied for numerous reasons. Examples include; pale skin, size, and for having a mother who was disabled. ( Side note: I’m not sure who would ever want to put down or make fun disabled people. If you do, and you think it’s okay then you are garbage. Sorry not sorry. ) However, Tess Holliday dropped out of high school but she obtained her GED.
Yeah! a GED. She is so succesful! This is a prime example that education is important! a GED is the way to go if you decided to quit school early. It is never too late!
She moved to LA and was a front desk person at a dentist when her modeling career took off! She said at first she though it was a scam. She pursued her dream to be a plus size model! Thank goodness she did! She broke so many glass ceilings for plus size people.
She is 5’5 and a size 22 or 3x. She is heavily tattooed and she has piercings. She is an amazing confident creature!
Why is she a confident creature?
Yes obvious answer because she is 100% that bitch. She is confident, strong, and empowering. She uses her super power of being comfortable in her own skin to advocate for others and encourage others to love themselves.
She has a body positive movement on instagram @effyourbeautystandards I love this! I think everything you need to hear is in the title. EFF the beauty standards. I dislike the ideas or stigmas people develop with beauty standards. Weird to talk it out but I love wearing black dresses and black rompers for the classy feel and look. My friend pointed out that she thought I wore those dresses to look skinnier. The standard “Black makes you look thin” but no honey I’m big no matter what color. So throw those standards out of the window! Need to be skinny to wear shorts? Nope. Need to wear certain stripes for dimensions? No Only girls with big butts can wear those jeans? No. Only people with feminine bodies wear dresses. No. Men shouldn’t wear make up. No. We are all individuals and I appreciate the idea of effing all the beauty standards and doing our own thing. Check it out! Use the tag. Show us how you eff the beauty standards up queen.
Why look up to her?
I personally look up to her because she is real. No matter what size she is, how many tats or piercings she has she is REAL. She stands up for others. She is caring and outgoing. We all need to be more caring and outgoing in this weird world to help others and ourselves be happy and comfortable.
Also, a very specific example is her post getting a waxing done on her private parts at an airport? I recall being in shock and impressed. Her hygiene is on point! I would be nervous to get that done in-between travels but she didn’t care! She had to get a wax for her job so she did it. Simple as that.
