6 things you can do TODAY to gain a spark of confidence!
The way we see ourselves or feel about ourselves has a huge impact on our day, our week, our goals, and our life in general. It’s hard to believe but even the most perfect, beautiful, outstanding people have bad days. I mean can you imagine J-Lo, Obama, Chris Pratt, or what ever celebrity you think of highly having a bad day? Well sadly, they do.
Even superheros get stuck in ruts. I mean come on, we’ve all had days where we feel like Thor from End Game.
I know I get stuck in ruts and pulling yourself out takes a lot of time and effort. Getting out of rut will always take more than a day, doing a few things to help. You will need to work hard and I will be posting a guide to help those in a more long term situation later.
BUT these things always boost my self confidence. Even just a little spark can make a HUGE difference. This is 100% personal. You may have small confidence boosters you can share with all of us in the comments. Well with no further chit chat here is 6 things you can do TODAY to SPARK some confidence!
1 Paint your nails or Treat yo self and go get them done!
I feel like men, women, trans, or anyone feels more put together with clean and cut nails. Or long and stunning! I mean we look at our hands all the time. We don’t always pay attention but when I have my nails done I feel like BOOM look at this *Points at everything* *does JAzz hands*. I think it shows that you put some effort into your look and hygiene. It is a little spark, of “OH LOOK” whenever you’re on your phone, doing dishes, or looking at your hands nervously. Sounds silly but try it! Even a natural at home cut, shaping, and clear polish can do incredible things! Tell me what you think!
2. Rock out to some MUSIC
Easy to do anywhere! Headphones or no headphones. Music that you FEEL! I love turning up some empowering music and dancing around! You will feel free and incredible!
If you’re like what music moves my body? YOU KNOW! Even if it’s old music from your childhood, turn it up! OR you absolutely love jazz music, classical, hip hop, play what ever gets you moving ! And move how YOU feel! Twerking, ballet, jazz, moving like a snake, jumping around, anything that feels right!
Some recommendations I would give would be
- Little Mix- Anything from them! They have upbeat and empowering music. I love trying to dance “sexy” to their song Wasabi!
- Ashnikko! Anything from her is a powerful bop. I like Working Bitch. I’ll sing that song to myself and it has a funky rhythm and line dance.
- Guardin. Literally ANY song he has. He’s that sad bop we all need. I love Creature by Guardin. I’ll just bop and scream the lyrics.
- SET IT OFF if you like that pop punk feel. Set it off- Why worry. This song is amazing and the message is INCREDIBLE.
Well those are some of my go to “WHAT THE HELL is happening in my life” songs. Of course I like some Machine Gun Kelly, G Eazy, Beyonce, Hilary Duff, Doja Cat, Weird bands, odd music, Today’s hits, ya know anything!
3. Go for a walk.
Easiest thing to do, throw some shoes on and walk! Go alone or go with a furry friend, or human friend. lol But I love walking and just checking out the neighborhood. Or I live in Colorado and they have some AMAZING walking trails that go by the river.
I’ve been using an app call “Alltrails” It’s free! and it has trails for biking, hiking, bird watching, and more all in it. It also has details of the trails. How difficult they are, how long they are, the incline, the weather, how busy the trails are.
I use it to find nice trails near me that are about 1 mile – 3 miles loops because I’m pretty out of shape but I love nature and feeling good connecting to it. And I’m not paid at all to endorse this app. I genuinely love using it. I found some great nature trails but even walking around the neighborhood can clear your mind and add a SPARK to your confidence.
4. Listen to a podcast
Okay so this one is new to me! I put on a podcast and I clean or organize. My brother was the one that showed me some cool podcasts. I like listening to Joe Rogan’s podcast The Joe Rogan Experience. It’s on youtube and spotify. Really anywhere you can find podcasts. He interviews some awesome people. I like when he interviews Elon Musk and all kinds of people. It’s good to have an insight. But his podcasts are pretty long and hour or more.
For a short one I would recommend looking on spotify I know I like listening to “The Happiness Project”. I need to get better at listening to podcasts. “Things you should know” is another good one. But I like going for a night walk and listening to them or while I’m doing the dishes just to expand my mind and be open to other people’s thoughts. I always get a SPARK of confidence like yay I know more things! lol If you find any cool podcasts drop it in the comments.
5. Do Something for YOU!
Sounds Easy right? lol NOT always. I know everyone has a busy life and they have big “To do lists” but it is super important to do something for you! I know for me I’ve been trying to down size and get rid of some material items, ya know Marie Condo style. If you don’t know her she is super great at tidying up and she wants you to keep things that spark joy. Google her. lol but that’s just for me.
My friend loves to paint but she never has the time. I always encourage her to make time to paint! She loves it and needs to do it for herself.
My brother loves to write music and play guitar. He always makes time to play music or when we are out of town he brings a notebook to write music.
Or maybe it’s even bigger than a hobby or doing something around the house. Maybe it’s sitting down and setting your accounts on Auto-pay to never miss a payment. Or signing up for an online class or webinar.
It’s all up to YOU!
6. Do Something for someone else
This last one is incredible. Helping others releases those happy chemicals in your brain! It feels good to be wanted or feel needed. It will SPARK your confidence to help a friend, family member, neighbor, or anyone! Take an afternoon and ask around.
You can help by volunteering some where like a soup kitchen, boys and girls club, hospital, any where! Helping others will truly make you feel better! But know your limits! Don’t let your kindness allow you to give away a large sum of money or something. lol
This could be a daily thing too! like the daily challenge to spread kindness!
Well that’s the 6 things! I hope you know that you’re incredible and you deserve to feel incredible!
